Noob isn't even a word that would describe the knowledge I have as an MMO player. I've played video games on all types of consoles and PC's for most of my life, but I was at a complete loss when it came to the massive amount of key combinations needed to be successful in the MMO world. When Star Wars: The Old Republic (SW:TOR) showed up on the horizon I jumped in line and registered for the beta, got my code and began my journey through the SW:TOR Universe. To say the least I was struggling until I stumbled upon a post on the SW:TOR forums that talked about using a controller / gamepad with an MMO.
mass effect 2 xpadder profile xbox360 controller
I actually played the entire campaign with a controller using the default game settings. :) I had a keyboard in front of me for things like squad commands etc, but I played through the whole campaign with no issues. i now have 2,300 hours of Arma-all of it with controller-but I use xpadder now.
I use the Arma3 profile for the keyboard and it seems alright. For the controllers (CH Combat Stick, Pro Throttle and Pro Pedals) I used the controller setup picking the schemes for these items. Then I had to manually adjust dead zones and sensitivities, but it was enough to get me going flying helis until I could map the remainder of the buttons as I wished.
For $10, it will read your controller inputs and convert them into mouse and keyboard inputs so you can play with whatever controller you want to. It even has a ton of profiles for games and standard controller layouts pre-made, so you don't have to map them out yourself.
